Meet Our Board
Eibhlin Ni Chathain.
Eibhlin was first elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2016 and has served as Chairperson since September 2021. She is an active volunteer and a member of her local Residents’ Association, bringing strong community insight and lived experience to her role.
With an in-depth understanding of the Family Resource Centre national programme, Eibhlin recognises the positive impact it has on vulnerable families and communities. Her professional skillset includes governance, HR, and recruitment structures, and she plays a key role as a member of the Staff Liaison, Recruitment, and Risk Management Sub-group.
Eibhlin has a particular interest in social inclusion and respect for cultural diversity, values she actively promotes within the work of the FRC. She is also a fluent Irish speaker, reflecting her commitment to cultural heritage and community identity.
Pauline Lyne.
Pauline was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2014. Her first connection with the FRC was as a service user, where she experienced the value of the support provided to families. Inspired by this, she became actively involved as a volunteer and later as a Board member, contributing her time and expertise to the organisation.
Pauline brings a strong background in administration, employment law, and health & safety, offering valuable secretarial and governance skills to the Board. She is also an active member of the Staff Liaison and Childcare Sub-group, where she helps to support the centre’s commitment to high-quality services for children and families.
Josie Slattery.
Josie serves as Treasurer of the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre. She is an Accountant with Moriarty & Murphy Accountants, bringing with her a wealth of financial knowledge and expertise that provides invaluable insights for the organisation’s governance and sustainability.
A resident of Ballyspillane, within sight of Torc CFRC’s headquarters, Josie is also actively involved in various community activities. She plays a central role in the organisation’s financial oversight and currently leads the Finance Sub-group, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strong financial management practices.
Liam Grimes.
Liam was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2016. He is Chairperson of his local Residents’ Association and an active volunteer with his local GAA club, reflecting his strong commitment to community development and engagement.
Through his professional background in business retail, Liam has developed a solid understanding of employment law, health and safety policies, governance, and board structures. These skills add significant value to the Board’s oversight and strategic direction.
He also serves as a member of the Staff Liaison and Risk Management Sub-group, contributing to the centre’s focus on accountability, good governance, and organisational sustainability.
Margaret McLellan.
Margaret was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2013, following a long-standing involvement with the organisation. She first became connected to the FRC through a TUS work placement, where she gained valuable insight into its community role. After her placement ended, Margaret continued her involvement as an active volunteer with TorcC FRC, supporting local groups and initiatives.
Margaret has a strong interest in early childhood development and learning, a passion that is also reflected in her role as a grandmother to four grandchildren. She brings valuable knowledge in early childhood care to the Board and is an active member of the Staff Liaison and Childcare Sub-group, where she supports the centre’s work in strengthening services for children and families.
Marie Moloney.
Marie was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2024. She has a distinguished record of public service at both local and national level and is currently serving as Deputy Mayor of Kerry. Marie has also held the role of Mayor of Killarney and served as a Labour Party Senator from 2011 to 2016, where she was spokesperson on Social Protection.
A dedicated representative for the Killarney area, she has been elected multiple times to Kerry County Council, most recently in 2024. Alongside her political career, Marie has worked with SIPTU, where she has been a strong advocate for workers’ rights, social protection, and community well-being. She brings to the Board a wealth of experience in governance, representation, and community advocacy.
Mish O’Donoghue.
Mish was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in 2025. A former secondary school teacher, she shared her love of music with new generations of students before qualifying as a Mindfulness Practitioner. Today, she delivers Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses across Kerry, supporting individuals in building resilience and managing stress.
Mish brings to the Board a valuable perspective on the challenges facing young people, alongside an understanding of the wider pressures experienced by families and communities. She is an active member of the Governance Sub-group, contributing her insight and commitment to wellbeing and inclusion in community life.
Richard O Brien.
Richard was elected to the Board of Torc Community & Family Resource Centre in July 2025. He currently works as a Chaplain at the Bons Secours Hospital in Tralee, Co. Kerry, where he provides pastoral and emotional support to patients and families. Richard completed his chaplaincy and theological studies with a particular emphasis on social justice, faith-based engagement, and community support.
A resident of Ballyspillane, Killarney, where he lives with his family, Richard is deeply rooted in the local community. He brings to the Board a strong skillset in crisis support, active listening, and interfaith and cross-cultural engagement. His professional and personal experience reflect a commitment to compassion, inclusion, and service, values that align closely with the mission and vision of Torc CFRC.
